Automatic extension for publication of financial statements
KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia Bhd authorized an automatic one-month extension for the publication of financial statements and annual reports for the core, ace and bond markets, which are due on May 31 and June 30, 2021.
In a statement, the local exchange said the one-month extension was for the release of quarterly and annual reports for major and ace markets as well as semi-annual and audited financial statements for the hopping market.
“Since March 2020, the exchange has implemented various relief measures to facilitate regulatory compliance and help listed issuers weather the difficult times of the Covid-19 pandemic while ensuring that the objectives and purpose of our regulatory framework are achieved, ”he added.
Meanwhile, Bursa said the move comes after considering the potential impact of the Third Order of Movement Control (MCO 3.0) from May 12 to June 7, 2021 on listed issuers.
“Notwithstanding the one month extension, listed issuers are reminded to comply with the disclosure obligations under the listing requirements.
“This includes the immediate announcement of any important information to ensure that shareholders and investors have access to the information in a timely manner,” he added.
