“I will be back! I love you all”
Michelle Waterson may have lost in her main event against Marina Rodriguez, but her morale remains good. Despite the loss, Waterson knows she’ll be back in the Octagon to do what she loves.
UFC Vegas 26
Waterson was half of the main event at UFC Vegas 26 last night. Although the women’s flyweight showdown against Rodriguez rivaled a boxing match from Canelo Alvarez, fans were still tuned in to see the action.
At the start of the fight, Rodriguez set the tone. She used her length and hitting accuracy to support Waterson, avoiding wrestling rallies. However, as the war continued, Michelle found her timing and was able to land some significant leg kicks, as well as a kicking assault in later rounds.
Nonetheless, his efforts were celebrated by the enthusiasts in attendance and the fans watching at home. Unfortunately for Michelle, the result of the fight ended in loss. Marina was able to win the fight by unanimous decision.
Waterson tackles loss
After the fight, Waterson ported to social media to tell her fans that she will be back. In addition, she wanted to thank everyone in her corner for their support.
âThank you for dancing @marinarodriguezmma (Marina Rodriguez) a hell of a fight. Thank you @ufc (UFC) for giving me the opportunity to play under the lights! Thanks to all my friends, family and fans for always supporting me !! Every time I walk into the octagon, I take out a better person. I’ll be back! Love you all, âWaterson wrote.
UFC Gold Quest
When Waterson returns to the cage, it will more than likely be a return to the strawweight division. After all, Waterson was severely undersized against Rodriguez and is generally the smallest fighter in fights taking place in the 115lb division.
After the setback, Waterson will continue his mission to acquire gold in the UFC.
